Governing bodies act as a corporate body, taking a strategic role in the development of the school, supporting and challenging the leadership team.
The role of Governors is strategic, acting as a critical friend to the school and taking accountability for its decisions. Governors set aims and objectives and agree, monitor, evaluate and review policies, targets and priorities. The Full Governing Board meets monthly.
The strategic development of the school is proposed in an annual improvement plan, building on strengths and assigning resources to develop the priorities identified. Individual governors are linked to each priority and work with the school leadership team to monitor and review progress.
Governors are responsible for agreeing the annual budget submission to the local authority and support the executive head teacher in the management of public funds.
The Chair of Governors is Mr Jonathan Cousins who can be contacted via the school office.
